UW Security Lab at FTC PrivacyCon 2021
Three members of the UW Security & Privacy Lab were invited to speak at the Federal Trade Commission’s PrivacyCon this year! Postdoc Pardis Emami-Naeini and PhD student Miranda Wei spoke about their pre-UW work, and PhD student Christine Geeng spoke about her study of COVID-19 misinformation interventions on social media (a collaboration with Security Lab faculty member Franzi Roesner and iSchool faculty member Jevin West). What’s more, Christine’s session was moderated by FTC technologist Christina Yeung, who we are excited will be joining the Security Lab as a PhD student this fall! You can see the PrivacyCon talk videos as well as check out the agenda, including links to the associated research papers, here: https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/events-calendar/privacycon-2021.
